Last T-ball Game

This past Tuesday Harrison had his very last T-ball game of the season! While I am happy not to be out in that hot, hot sun, I am sad that this first season of T-ball has come to an end. He did a great job learning the basic skills of baseball, such as...

hitting,
running the bases,

and learning to listen to his coaches (even Coach Daddy).

I was one of the Team Moms along with Harrison's Teacher, Mrs. Spears. We spent every game in the dugout corralling the boys and helping with batting helmets, bats, and baseball caps.

Two good buddies--Trey and Harrison

"What a game!"

"Good game, friend!"

I love this one! Harrison's afternoon teacher, Ms. Gail, came to the ballpark and took some cute, cute pictures of Trey and Harrison.
I can't wait until opening pitch next year!!!

Another One Bites the Dust

I have to say good-bye to these precious faces today...

Okay...maybe not so precious in this picture!
But I am going to miss these sweet little six and seven-year-olds desperately this summer! Just not my alarm clock at 5:00 a.m.

Music City Madness

On Friday night we continued the fun, fun day at the Von Braun Center. Caitlin had her dress rehearsal for her dance recital, "Music City Madness." Every dance had something to do with the city of Nashville which is one of our favorite cities:)
The dress rehearsal is so much more low-key and less stressful than the actual performance on Saturday night.

Here is Caitlin with her two best dance friends, Kayla and Anna. Don't they look beautiful for their ballet dance?
The dress rehearsal is also a time for goofing off for the girls. For instance...

they decided to act out the Three Little Pigs story in the dressing room.
They did a great job rehearsing on Friday, but we were there until about 11:00!! Both Caitlin and I fell into bed and ended up sleeping late on Saturday thanks to our great guys:)
On Saturday we got to the Civic Center early enough to get great seats to see our star performer. First up was the Ballet dance.
The song was "Tennessee Waltz" and it was absolutely beautiful in those costumes!

* This got put in the wrong order.*
Harrison just didn't last very long! Poor, tired baby.

She was making sure we were watching her every move!

Next up was the "Big Bad Wolf" tap dance. It represented the Nashville Children's Theatre. We rushed to change her out of her costume after this dance so that she could come sit with us in the audience. And look who was sitting right in front of us...

Megan and her parents, John and Christie. They are in our Sunday School class and are good friends. Megan was a cowgirl in her dance and did a fantastic job!

We then had to change the girls into their jazz costume-race car driver for the Nashville Speedway.
*Warning* Out of order picture!!!

Ma-Ma and Pa-Pa sat with us cheering on the most beautiful dancer out there. They also presented her with a bouquet of flowers. Her Daddy gave her the pink and peach roses she's holding on the right. What a special girl!!

The song for this dance was "White Knuckle Ride" by Lynryd Skynryd.

It was a cute, cute dance! And look at that smile on her face!! She loved this dance and costume the most.
I then had to help her change ONE more time into her finale costume. Luckily it was a simple one.

It was a country music song, so all the girls wore white t-shirts, blue jean skirts or shorts, and bandannas.

Only the girls who have maintained perfect attendance get the chance to dance in the finale. It is quite an honor!!
So now we have another recital under our belts and are ready to rest up and relax!!

Watch Out K--He's On His Way!

On Friday Harrison had his End of Year Pre-K Program which included them getting their diplomas and graduating to Kindergarten. Yes, a few tears were shed by this Mommy! Harrison did an excellent job singing the songs and reciting his lines in their class poem, and we were so very proud!

Maybe he'll make a great singer one day!
After they performed for all the parents, Mrs. Spears handed out their diplomas.

He looks like such a big boy:(

He was very happy with his Clifford book that he got along with his diploma.

Posing with the BEST Pre-K Teacher ever!!!!

Each Pre-K classroom has an aide, and Ms. Michaels was in Harrison's room this year. She is so sweet and has taken such good care of Harrison!

He had to get a picture with his best buddy, Casey.

2 Proud Parents with their Kindergarten Boy--hard to believe he is that old!!!!

Awards Day '10

I got to be Mommy this morning and attend Caitlin's Awards Day at Monrovia. It was a lot of fun watching my baby girl get so excited over her Honor Roll Award. Just look at the expression on her face...

We had a little bit of an argument over what to wear, but thankfully she still fits in last year's Easter dress!!

My proud moment as her Mom! She has worked so very hard to earn this Honor Roll Award, and I couldn't be happier for her.

Ma-Ma and Pa-Pa were not about to miss cheering on their smart granddaughter!

Caitlin and her teacher, Ms. Curry.

One proud Daddy with his beautiful daughter.
I had a meeting at church tonight, so we didn't get to celebrate her achievement. But believe me, we will tomorrow night with a dinner out at her favorite place!

Friends and Family

At the ballpark tonight, I spied some cute ballplayers....

Jackson, Harrison, Lauren, Ben, and Aidan
and one cute family (if I do say so myself!!).

Daddy wasn't able to be there tonight due to the most awful stomach bug that has been hanging around our house lately. He's the third one down. I'm just waiting for my turn to come up!

Caitlin for VP

Well we have been busy, busy bees this weekend running campaign headquarters out of our house. (And my fingers are indefinitely scarred from all the gluing I have done on a certain little girl's posters!)
Caitlin is running for Student Council Vice President, and look at all our hard work:

We actually made 2 more after I took this picture for a grand total of 9 posters to hang in the hallways. She also has pencils and stickers to hand out on Wednesday. She gives her speech on Thursday, and I will be a complete WrEcK during that!!! So we find out on Friday morning if she has won or not. I think I might cry too if she doesn't win after all the hard work I have put into this campaign!

Summer is Coming!

I know this because we had friends over for the first cookout of the season! We always have a lot of fun with the Mayers and Aronsons, and tonight was no different.
We dug into the kids' sunglasses...

while the kids played outside.

Delaney and Taylor were all smiles in the fresh spring air!

Six sweet kiddos

Look at those dirty feet!! I had to get a close-up of them!
We had such a good night together. It really makes me long for summer. Only 8 more days...

Let's Dance!

We got Caitlin's dance pictures back today, and I couldn't be happier!! She LOVES to pose for the camera, so Picture Day is one of her favorite days especially because she gets to dress up!

This race car driver costume is her favorite!

Pretty, pretty ballerina
This is her pig costume for her dance "Big Bad Wolf."

And here is her entire Competition class in their "Big Bad Wolf" costumes. Caitlin is the last pig standing on the right side.
Here's a funny: When she saw this picture, she said, "OHHHHH! Don't you think I'm just the cutest one out there?!?"

Happy Mother's Day!

My Mother's Day morning started with a fantastic breakfast in bed served by my two blessings!

Excuse the bed-heads!

The breakfast was followed by some extra-special gifts. Along with the sweet gifts they made me at school, I got 2 new Pandora charms for my bracelet--a boy and a girl.

We then got all cleaned up for church. Don't we look a little better?!?
After church I got to pick where I wanted to eat lunch.

This is us waiting for our table at my favorite restaurant, PF Chang's!
Apparently I am allergic to some kind of spice, so I had to quickly take a Benadr*l while we were still at the restaurant. This resulted in a long afternoon nap.
Then it was off to my sister's house for our annual Mother's Day dinner with my Mom.

Posing with my wonderful Mom and sister. I feel so thankful to have her in my life! I owe all my mothering skills to her, and I hope I am half the Mom she is.
Of course there were presents to open!

All the grandkids with their Ma-Ma waiting for the present-opening to begin.
And then came the goofiness....

Future hip-hop stars, maybe?
And what better way to end the day than with a game of basketball?

Or maybe some girl talk?

We had a wonderful Mother's Day, and I hope you did too!
