AWWWWWW!!!!

Harrison will not stay in his bed at night! He usually comes into our room in the middle of the night to get in his sleeping bag. However, this is what I found when I went into Caitlin's room the other morning...

I couldn't resist taking a picture just to show them that they really do love each other!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

This was the scene as I left school at 11:30 today...

Snow was coming down really, really hard! It was beautiful to look at, but I was scared to death to drive us home in it! I had to wait about 15 minutes to let my windshield de-ice before leaving, and once I did leave it was sloooooooow going. Thankfully we are home safe and sound now waiting for that same beautiful snow to hit our house.

Teddy Bear Sleepover

Harrison has been learning all about the letter Bb this week, so his class had a Teddy Bear Sleepover Day today where the children could wear their pajamas to school.

He picked out his Sponge Bob Smartie Pants pajamas to wear. Unfortunately they are summer pajamas so he had to wear a long sleeve shirt underneath. That didn't phase him at all! He was just so excited to be wearing pajamas to school. In fact, waking him up this morning was super easy because he was so excited!

Here is his class posing with their teddy bears this morning.

Fabulous First Grade

I wanted to share this picture of my fabulous first grade friends that we had taken before Christmas. I spend everyday with them and absolutely LOVE them! They are the greatest group of teachers any school would ever be lucky enough to have.

Back Row: Beth, Nakita, Mary
Middle Row: Mary Beth, Petra, Me
Front Row: Bekah, Thea
We are missing 2 of our friends, Debbie and Ashley, in our picture, but we love them too!

Cooties and Dancing

Since that nasty stomach bug has infected the rest of my house, I am home today with Harrison just resting on the couch and trying not to run to the bathroom too many times with him!
But last night we were not feeling bad (yet!) and Caitlin was feeling much, much better! So we went here...

to see this cute little dancer.

Caitlin's tap routine is a competition piece this year which means they will be travelling to Montgomery in February to compete in Dance Masters of America. They were also invited to perform it at the Dance Jubilee.

It's called "Big Bad Wolf" and set to the song "Brick House."

Caitlin is the cutest hard hat-wearing pig out there!!

They wear me out just watching them run around the stage like that!
She is such a perfectionist and realized that she messed up a few steps on stage, so when we got home she had to rerun the routine SEVERAL times!! Thankfully we are 70's music fans:)

Hard at Work

Since Caitin and Randy had a stomach bug yesterday, we all had a pajama day at our house. Harrison asked to go to his favorite phonics website on my laptop right before lunch. After he started playing, it was lunchtime. I fixed him a hot dog, chips, and Capri-Sun, but if you'll notice...

...he was working so hard, he couldn't even stop to eat his lunch!!!
(And for the record, he dressed himself!)

Woo-Hoo! Cel-e-brate Good Times!

Since Randy turned the big 4-0 this year, I planned a night out on the town with some of our close friends to celebrate the big milestone. I also reserved us a room at the Westin to make the night a little bit more special. We started our night out at Cantina Laredo.

Me and the Guest of Honor opening birthday presents

Todd and Laura--aren't they a cute couple?

Randy and his good friend Mike hamming it up. Is this man really 40 years old?!? But honestly, this is the same way they acted in high school is what I am told!

The newlyweds, Joe and Lawren. Joe is another CrAzY friend from Randy's high school days!

Upon leaving the restaurant, we found out it was POURING outside. So Laura and Todd donned their "Deadliest Catch" gear to walk down to the Station.

Me and my two Best Friends

We got to listen to some good music from this great band. The only problem--why are only the girls dancing?!?
We had such a good, grown-up night out on the town celebrating my sweetheart's BIG birthday!

You Say It's Your Birthday...

I had a fantastic birthday thanks to my FaBuLoUs family!!
It started out early in the morning with a gourmet meal delivered by my sweet, sweet husband! But before we could eat, it was present time...

Harrison gave me the coolest houndstooth scarf and hat which I couldn't wait to wear. (Not the hat, though, otherwise it would have messed up my hair--ha-ha) Caitlin gave me computer accessories I had asked for, and Randy made a big hit with the Wii Fit Plus!! I just hope it's not a hint:)

Then I made my way to school where I had more presents waiting for me.

My friend, Laura, gave me a Gigi's cupcake! I've never had one before, and it was SOOOOOO good. Words cannot even describe how delicious that double fudge cupcake was!
My sweet first graders also made me cute birthday cards plus they sang Happy Birthday to me at lunch.
We then had a date with my family at Carrabba's. The food did not disappoint! But the funniest thing was the children (aren't they always the highlight of any family gathering?).

Our waiter gave them dough to play with, and once they discovered how funny it was to put it on their faces--there was no stopping them!

The boys' new mustaches

The birthday couple
We then walked over to Ben & Jerry's where my parents wanted to get ice cream for dessert. Guess who were the only takers?!?

The kids, of course!! (Caitlin had just gotten in trouble for walking off to watch the "jumpy thing" without telling anyone!)
It was a fun birthday! Thank you to my wonderful family for such a great day!

Happy Birthday Breakfast!

Honoring our tradition of getting to choose your breakfast on your birthday, Randy picked cinnamon rolls this year. Caitlin and Harrison couldn't wait to give him his birthday presents, so he opened cards and presents before eating his yummy breakfast.

Harrison picked out an Iron Man card for his Daddy. Daddy is Harrison's hero so it was very appropriate.

I gave him the commemorative Sports Illustrated of Alabama's National Championship. His big present from me will come on Saturday (more on that in a later post).
Then it was on to the kids' present....

Just what I wanted....DJ Hero!! Did I mention that my husband is a 13-year-old?!?

Randy had looked at this game for his XBox before Christmas and mentioned that it looked like a lot of fun. Well, Caitlin never forgot that moment in Target! So that was what she definitely wanted to buy Daddy for his birthday.

Happy Birthday Daddy!! We love you!!

Happy Birthday Dinner

For his birthday dinner, Caitlin and Harrison told Randy (Daddy) that they wanted to take him out for sushi. There is a little Steak and Sushi restaurant right down the road from our house, so he decided he wanted to try it out. Even though it's been open for over a year, we have never sampled their cuisine. They also have a Hibachi part so we knew Harrison and I would get something to eat also (we do NOT eat sushi!).

Daddy and his beautiful girl eating their favorite meal: sushi!

Harrison LoVeD the "fire show"!!!! He couldn't take his eyes off of it.

When our chef was done preparing our meals, Harrison even turned around to watch the "fire show" at the next table.

Randy, I hope you had a good birthday celebrating with us!

Snow Day!!

Well, we got to sleep in this morning since we already knew school was closed before bedtime last night. But when we finally did wake up (at 7:30), we found this outside:

SNOW!!!!
We stayed outside for a long time playing in it. Here's a glimpse of our morning:

SnOwBaLl FiGhT!!!!!

Taking a break to say cheese for the camera!

Now switch places so we will remember Daddy playing in the snow too!

Look at all this snow on my hands!

Making a snow angel

And look at the cute little snowman we made!
We had to make it on the driveway because that's the only place the snow had accumulated.
We then came in to thaw out and play...
"Just Dance" on the Wii. Both of them are SOOOOOOO competitive and get so mad with either the game or each other when they do badly!

Of course, we had to have some hot chocolate to warm up also.

See how hard he's concentrating? It's a true science mixing up the marshmallows and whipped cream into the hot chocolate.
So that's been our Snow Day today. We are now waiting on the BCS Championship game to start so that we can cheer on our Crimson Tide!
