Prayer Request

Even though I am telling on myself...I had to share this.
I picked up Caitlin's Bible tonight, and some things fell out. I picked them up and realized they were different papers she and her brother had been writing on during the Easter Service. This one cracked Randy and me up!!! (and opened our eyes a little bit)

So I guess I need prayer to help me stop yelling at her. Oh, if she only realized how guilty I do feel when I raise my voice to her!

Dance Day

Today was Visitors Day at Caitlin's Dance classes. She is actually in 3 classes: Tap, Ballet, and Jazz with her favorite being Jazz. So she really, really wanted us to come watch her in Jazz. However on Mondays she has Tap for an hour then Jazz for an hour, so we stayed for the entire 2 hours and watched everything!

First came the Tap class. They've really been working hard on learning new steps. I had seen
the dance before because it was their Competition Dance.
Then came her Jazz class. I haven't seen any of this dance before, so it was exciting! I really can't wait for Recital in May. It will exciting to see all of my baby girl's hard work come together.

Teacher For a Day

Thursday was "Bring Your Child to Work Day" all across our great nation. Well since my children know exactly what I do as well as their Daddy, I didn't think either one of them would want to miss a day with their friends. I was wrong!
Caitlin was super excited to come to my classroom and be the Teacher for the Day. However this is what her teaching consisted of:

Although she did help me out a lot during Reading Centers, so I really shouldn't complain! And what fun we had talking like adults about some of the things real teachers complain about. So it was a fun, fun day with my sweetheart.

A Little Sweetness Never Hurt Anybody

I had to take Caitlin to the doctor today for an issue she has been having. Turns out its nothing serious right now, but we are going to be watching her closely. Please just keep her in your prayers for now!
Anyway...they had to prick her finger to test her blood. She's NOT a big fan of any kind of pain (Randy says the apple doesn't fall far from the Mommy Tree!), so this was not an enjoyable experience!! While we were sitting there with her squeezing my hand, I made the promise of ice cream afterwards. Well, once we got into the car that promise quickly changed to Gigi's Cupcakes which I was all for!!

**Excuse the quality--it was taken with my phone!**
Sweet little girl with our yummy cupcakes to take home for dessert. So really it was a treat for all of us!

Skipping School

I have a confession to make--I skipped school today! (But I made plans for a substitute first.) I had a really good reason too. My friend, Sarah, was in town from Murfreesboro. This week is her Spring Break, so she came down to see me and some of her other "Alabama Friends." And we did something really fun--we went to lunch with a blog friend, Joy.

It was really neat to finally get to meet Joy after following her family's blog for awhile (although I felt like I already knew her!). Our other blog friend was supposed to come to lunch also, but her son got sick so she had to cancel. Oh well, there's always next time, Jennifer!
~Now it's back to the grindstone tomorrow~

Have You Seen Her Tooth?

Caitlin has had this really, really loose tooth for about a week now. I absolutely despise loose teeth!! And guess what first-graders are good at getting?!? Yep, you guessed it. Thank goodness it's different when it's your own flesh and blood who have a loose tooth. Anyway, that tooth has been driving me CrAzY!!! I have been begging her to let me pull it, but NO WAY! That is...until today. Apparently her want of money overcame her fear of pulling it. Sooooooo after supper we went into my bedroom. She laid down on my bed, I wiggled it 2 whole times, and TA-DAAAA...

No more loose tooth!

She couldn't believe that it had actually come out!

A Sno-Cone Kind of Day

When we got home from school today, it was way too beautiful to stay inside. So instead we quickly changed into outside clothes...

...and shoes so that we could play and enjoy the sunshine. We swung on the swing set, rode bikes, practiced T-ball, and last but not least...

...enjoyed sno-cones from the Ice Cream Truck!

Caitlin was the BEST big sister and even shared a taste of hers with her brother!!

My sweet boy enjoying his bubble gum Sno-Cone on a hot Spring day. These are the days of summer I long for!

2nd Game

Harrison and the Red Sox had their 2nd T-ball game on Monday night. I am in LoVe with T-ball!!! It is so cute to see them try to hit the ball off the tee.

He stands correctly, but after he hits it...

He is turned all the way around backwards!!!
Then to watch them run with that big batting helmet on...

He just looks so little out there!
But he did score a home run last night!

Good game Astros!

Being in the dugout as Team Mom does have its advantages. One of them being that I still get to love on my little guy during innings!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game....

It was Opening Day at Palmer Park, and Harrison had his very first T-ball game today.

Posing for pictures before heading to the ball park

They had team pictures before the game. Here is the Red Sox T-ball team.

Individual shot of my superstar
Then it was game time!

Coach Daddy giving some last minute advice.

First at bat. He's really concentrating on that ball!

And he hits it!!!

First run!!

Getting lovin' from his sweet teacher and ball Mom, Mrs. Spears

Goin' for the ball

"Alright Guys--last batter! Let's get up out of the dirt and focus for just a few more minutes!"
Isn't this classic T-ball?!?

Shaking hands with the Angels

Then I totally embarrassed Caitlin by making her pose with Homer, the Huntsville Stars' mascot.

Ma-Ma and Pa-Pa came to cheer on Harrison.

And so did my dear teacher friend, Debbie, because she is so in love with him! (But who isn't??? Ha-ha)

Two tired coaches and one happy little boy after the game

We had so much fun at the ball park today! Of course we will be spending every Saturday there for the next 8 weeks plus a few nights here and there so we better enjoy ourselves!

MIdweek Surprise

I got a little surprise Wednesday morning. Randy asked if I wanted to go see a movie after school! In case that's not unusual for you--we NEVER go to the movies midweek unless it's summertime and a matinee. Well...I jumped at the chance. Randy took the kids to see...

and I got to see....

And it did not disappoint!!! I just finished reading the book late Monday night and was dying to see the movie--thus the offer of a midweek movie. (What a great hubby I have!!) Luckily I took not one, but TWO packets of Kleenex with me. And yes, I needed almost all of them!

Our Easter Celebration

We began our Easter morning by searching for Easter baskets as soon as Caitlin and Harrison were awake.

Surprise! They were by the front door.

Checking out all the cool stuff

Caitlin got a new pair of flip-flops, fuzzy posters to color, a new DS game, and candy in her basket.

Harrison got a coloring book, crayons, a movie, a new DS game, and candy in his basket.

We then ate breakfast, got ready, and went to a wonderful service in our new Grace Building at church. The service was so uplifting! And my sweet, sweet boy really got into the worship. On the last song he held his hand up to the Lord while singing a beautiful song! It's so amazing to see my kids worshippping our God.

** This picture is out of order--don't know how that happened!**
My parents fill these Easter baskets each year for the grandkids.

One of the many pictures they let me take before we left for church.

Our sweet family ready to worship and celebrate Jesus' resurrection.

The Easter Bunny always leaves a stuffed animal in the car for Caitlin and Harrison for them to find as we are on our way to church. Caitlin got a pink bunny...

and Harrison got a purple bunny just like it.
After church we came home to finish the preparations for our annual Easter Lunch with both sets of grandparents and my sister's family.

All four grandkids--Daniel, Caitlin, Harrison, and Stephanie--with their Easter baskets from Ma-Ma and Pa-Pa.

The HuGe 22-pound turkey that I was forced to get when I did our last-minute shopping on Thursday. Funny story--it was so heavy that it shifted in the back of the car on the way home from the grocery store. So when I opened the back of my Explorer, it fell out onto the driveway. I was a little worried that it would have a big brusie on its backside. When Randy took the wrapping off of it Sunday morning, I asked if it had a bruise. He said, "No, but you broke a wing off." Ha-ha!
After eating, it was time for Pa-Pa to hide the eggs.

Randy got the prize egg! The kids did NOT think that was fair!!

Harrison and his basket full of eggs he found.

My niece, Stephanie, on the hunt

Counting to see who got the most eggs
We had such a fun, blessed Easter Sunday with our wonderful service at church and spending time together with our family. I hope your Easter was just as great!
