Missions Week Monday

This week our church, Asbury, is having Missions Week for the children. The "mission" is to introduce each family to the Acts 1:8 great commission that Asbury has chosen to lead our church in mission ministry, "...tell people about me everywhere: in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Each day will focus on a different region where we will learn about that area of missions. Harrison and I are placed in Missions 'n Me while Caitlin is in Mission Minded Kids. Each group has age appropriate activities planned for the entire week.
Monday was the ends of the earth. We had several speakers who had recently been on international mission trips share their experiences with us.

Ms. Donna and her daughter, Bridget, shared with us about Kenya and Ethiopia. We got to play the drums along with them. They even brought some authentic Ethiopian dishes for us to sample. Harrison's reaction: "Yuck!"

We learned a special prayer using our fingers that we can say for the orphans around the world. These are most of the children in Missions 'n Me. Because it is the Preschool Group, a parent or grandparent must be with them, but that makes it all the more fun!

After watching the puppets who had travelled to Costa Rica, we were lucky enough to get to make our own puppet! Here is Harrison showing his handiwork.

This is part of Harrison's group. All of these childrens's parents are in our Sunday School Class: Bryce, Harrison, Will, Carter, Jack, and Calli.

After we got home, my two models had to pose with their their Missions shirts on!
