Snow Day!!

Well, we got to sleep in this morning since we already knew school was closed before bedtime last night. But when we finally did wake up (at 7:30), we found this outside:

SNOW!!!!
We stayed outside for a long time playing in it. Here's a glimpse of our morning:

SnOwBaLl FiGhT!!!!!

Taking a break to say cheese for the camera!

Now switch places so we will remember Daddy playing in the snow too!

Look at all this snow on my hands!

Making a snow angel

And look at the cute little snowman we made!
We had to make it on the driveway because that's the only place the snow had accumulated.
We then came in to thaw out and play...
"Just Dance" on the Wii. Both of them are SOOOOOOO competitive and get so mad with either the game or each other when they do badly!

Of course, we had to have some hot chocolate to warm up also.

See how hard he's concentrating? It's a true science mixing up the marshmallows and whipped cream into the hot chocolate.
So that's been our Snow Day today. We are now waiting on the BCS Championship game to start so that we can cheer on our Crimson Tide!

Because of this weather forecast today...(yes, it says 8 degrees on Friday!)...

this is what happened.

But....because of the schools closing tomorrow, we will be well-rested to watch this:

ROLL TIDE!!!!

Better Late Than Never

Guess what FINALLY came in the mail?????

Randy's Christmas present!!

I had ordered him 2 New York Yankees jerseys from the manufacturer on December 11. When they had not arrived by December 23, I was a little bit worried. I got an email and a tracking number from the guy on Christmas Eve saying that he had just shipped them out, so I should receive the jerseys the week after Christmas.
Here it is the New Year, and he finally got them!:)

Harrison is pretty impressed with Reggie Jackson's jersey. Or maybe he is just excited that he knows the number "4"!!

Cool! It even has the World Series patch on it!
Merry Late Christmas!!! I hope you enjoy wearing them, Sweet Husband.

Friends Then and Now

I had the greatest group of friends in high school! We were all part of my church's youth group, and we were stuck together like glue (as my dad put it!). I have so many great memories with these girls. (There were some guys too!) We went on Mission Trips together, Choir Tours, and many, many Sunday Night Fellowships. There were also the sleepovers at each other's houses and Friday night get-togethers. When I think back on it, I have such a smile on my face! After high school graduation we went to different colleges, but we still saw each other at Christmas and Summer Breaks. Then after college we got married (most of us were in each other's weddings) and took off on our new adventures as newlyweds. We then threw each other baby showers to welcome our new additions. Now it is not uncommon for us to talk only once or twice a year or see each other's pictures on Christmas cards or Facebook.
Well today I got the chance to eat breakfast with 2 of my oldest and dearest friends! Jeana has moved to Texas but was back visiting family for Christmas. Chanyn lives only 30 miles from me, but she is busy with her 2 boys like I am busy with my 2 children, so we don't see each other nearly enough! We had so much to catch up on, and believe me--we did! We laughed and realized that we are all pretty much the same except for some wrinkles!
I found this picture after I got home this morning:

This was taken the morning of our church's Senior Sunday 2 days before we graduated from high school. Kim on the left lives in Pelham, so she wasn't able to join us this morning. :( Then there's me, Jeana, and Chanyn.
Fast forward 20 years to today:

Me, Chanyn (in glasses), and Jeana (When we looked at the picture the waitress took of us, we realized she must really be proud of that picture on the wall!)
Thanks for a great time this morning, ladies!!! I miss you and can't wait for our next meal together!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!!!!
I wish all my blogging friends a happy and blessed 2010!

We are so very blessed to have such great friends to celebrate the New Year with! Sticking with tradition, last night we went over to the Aronsons' house to eat great food and enjoy each other's company before watching the ball drop in Times Square.

Me and my cute hubby!

Our wonderful hosts, Todd and Laura

Two sweet girls (Taylor and Caitlin) who also helped us ring in the New Year!

We also had protection! Harrison was Transformer Boy and Alex was the Blue Power Ranger. Thank goodness they were there!

Laura and I ringing in the New Year with our Dixie Cups of champagne--that's about all I can handle of the stuff!
I hope your New Year's celebration was as fun as ours was!
